Students of the International Campus will be treated to a high table dinner next month; a tradition first held at prestigious universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.
During the dinner series, students will have the opportunity to listen to international guest speakers who will offer their expertise in their subject area. Students will also be able to ask questions and discuss the topic with their peers and tutors.
The inaugural guest speaker Dr Gang Lu is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TechNode – a leading tech media company which covers Chinese technology and startup news. As TechNode is the official partner of TechCrunch, Dr Lu also managed TechCrunch China and events, which are now the largest international and start-up focused events in China. TechNode also runs several brands such as ChinaBang Awards, TNT (TechNode Touch) Salon, VC Meetup, XFounder Club and NodeSpace Accelerator across China.
TechNode has become one of the most credible platforms in China helping to bridge the gap between Chinese entrepreneurial ecosystems with the world. Dr Lu got his PhD in Wireless Communications from the University of Sheffield, UK and was honoured with the 1000 Talents Plan in 2017.
The Masters of Lap-Chee College, Hong Kong University and the Deans of the International Campus will also be present at the dinner.
The event will take place on Friday 11 May 2018 at 5 pm. Students can sign up directly through the Residential College.
