On 2nd April, the second SRTP and the first Scientific Research Practice Project Defense of ZJU-UoE Institute (ZJE) were successfully held at the Haining International Campus.
SRTP (Student Research Training Programme) is the Student scientific Research Training program of Zhejiang University. This year, Zhejiang University launched an undergraduate scientific research practice plan based on research training, requiring the person in charge of the project to be the student who has completed or is carrying out scientific research training and has passed the mid-term inspection.
By actively encouraging students to participate in SRTP and scientific research practice, ZJE hopes to cultivate students' scientific research awareness and team spirit, improve their scientific literacy and practical innovation ability, and lay a good foundation for cultivating high-quality innovative talents.
This time, a total of 17 groups of students submitted their applications for project approval, and all of them participated in the project approval defense. Among them, 16 groups are scientific research training and 1 group is scientific research practice. Each group contains 1 to 3 students. As judges, Dr. Wei Guo, Dr. Mikael Bjorklund, Dr. Wenwen Huang from ZJE, Dr. Michael Daw and Dr. Laura O 'Hara from the University of Edinburgh were present.
After each group of students gave a 5-minute English presentation, 5 experts put forward questions, opinions and suggestions on the logicality, technical route feasibility, and innovation of the project according to their own experience and expertise. In the process of stating and answering questions, students experienced the project approval defense of scientific research declaration and had further reflection on their own projects under the guidance of experts.
This defense will be a great help to the students' projects and scientific research ability, we are looking forward to excellent project results of students.
