On the afternoon of June 14, 2019, the selection and defense of "Qizhen Cup" 2019 top ten academic achievements of students was held in Qizhen Hall of Qizhen Hotel of Zhejiang University. 20 teams from different colleges conducted a fierce question-and-answer campaign. The "Qizhen Cup" annual ten new academic achievements of students has been held several times, it’s aim to fully mobilize students' enthusiasm and experience in academic research, encourage students to carry out interdisciplinary exchanges and research, create a strong campus academic atmosphere, enhance students' awareness of academic innovation, and enhance students' academic self-confidence.
Zhou Feifei, a PhD student of ZJE, took part in this competition with a project named: The "smart" hyper speed photo responsive biological glue which was supported by Key Laboratory of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine of Zhejiang Province and Li Dasan·Ye Yaozhen Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Centre. After online and offline voting and expert review, the project of Zhou Feifei won the award of "Qizhen Cup" 2019 top ten academic achievements of students.
The "smart" hyper speed photo responsive biological glue project aims to provide effective treatment for bleeding caused by clinical surgery and accidents, wars, etc., while achieving the goal of "seamless" repair of cartilage damage. Related research results have been reported by Website of the ministry of science and technology, Daily Mail of the UK, New Scientist of the US, Nature Facebook, People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency and many other well-known media.
As a ZJE student, Zhou Feifei shows his great research ability through this project. We also hope that in the future, this great research result can serve the public as soon as possible.
