On the evening of 26th September, the 4th Annual Haining Entrepreneurs Convention was held in the Haining Grand New Century Hotel. This congress was sponsored by the communist party of China Haining municipal committee, Haining government.
This meeting highlighted the theme of internationalization and integration. Professor Welburn and five other foreign experts and international friends won the first " Haining Friendship Award" for their important contributions to the development of Haining City. Professor Welburn made a speech as a representative of the award winners. She first thanked Haining municipal government for its kindness to foreigners and stating that she believes the International Campus is a beacon for opportunity. The outstanding facilities and academic talent attracted to the city will be of significant benefit to many generations to come, she said “China has a brilliant future and the next generation will be even more remarkable”.
"Haining Friendship Award" is the recognition of Professor Welburn in the fields of education, business, science and technology, as well as the recognition of Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute(ZJE) and its education model. In the past three years, ZJE has been developing vigorously, making continuous efforts to build a high-level international top college, and forge ahead to create a benchmark of international cooperative education worldwide.
