On December 1, 2023, the first Zijuan Youth Scholars Forum was held at the East Hall of the Haining Campus. The forum was hosted by the School of Basic Medical Sciences of Zhejiang University, and co-organized by the ZJE Institute, aiming to enhance the exchange of outstanding young medical talents between campuses, promote academic exchanges and cooperation in medicine, and build a bridge for harmonious progress between teachers and students. Professor Ke Yuehai, the dean of the ZJE Institute, delivered the opening speech, congratulating the successful opening of the first Zijuan Youth Scholars Forum. He emphasized that the forum would be an important bridge for future exchanges between the School of Basic Medical Sciences and ZJE in medical research, expressing high hopes for the forum and calling for deepened communication and cooperation between the research teams of the two institutes to jointly establish a multi-disciplinary and multi-level research approach.

The forum attracted more than 200 students and teachers to participate, engaging in in-depth discussions on various hot topics in the field of tumour immunity and metabolism. Professors Zheng Xiaofeng and Liu Jian from the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Zhejiang University jointly hosted the academic presentations.

17 presenters from the School of Basic Medical Sciences and ZJE primarily focused on tumour immunity, metabolism, and cell therapy, delivering brilliant reports on their research directions and important achievements. Active questioning and exchanges among teachers and students created a strong academic atmosphere at the forum.

In addition to the oral presentations, 24 high-quality academic posters were displayed at the forum, sparking heated discussions among the participants. Through on-site evaluations and online voting, 6 outstanding posters were selected, with Qin Shuyu winning the first prize, Lian Chen and Xu Wangting receiving the second prize, and Hou Yunli, Qin Rui, and Xie Haihua receiving the third prize.

The forum provided scholars from the School of Basic Medical Sciences, ZJE, and related disciplines at Zhejiang University with a platform for learning, exchange, cooperation, and innovation, and received high recognition from the participants. We look forward to more similar academic gatherings, carrying forward a new journey of integration and development, and continuously contributing to the high-quality development of medicine and life sciences.
