On the afternoon of April 24, 2026, the 150th session of the Biomed-X Research Seminar of ZJE was successfully held in Room 2A-203, ZJE Building. At the invitation of Dr. Jian Liu, Prof.Yushi Yao, a joint-appointed faculty member of the Department of Immunology, Zhejiang University School of Medicine and Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, delivered an academic report entitled “Respiratory viral infection and trained immunity in the lung”.
Prof. Yao introduced the research progress of trained immunity. He linked viral infection-induced macrophage training with tumor immunity, confirming the long-term effect of trained immunity. Acute type I interferon plays a key role in this process. Yao also pointed out the heterogeneity of trained immunity and prospected related research.
Teachers and students interacted actively. Prof. Yao answered questions carefully, and his rigorous attitude and achievements impressed the audience.
This is the 150th session of the Biomed-X Seminar series. ZJE will continue to build this academic brand and provide a high-level academic exchange platform for teachers and students.
